The Road So Far
Breaking The Silence
I’ve been thinking about what to write for this devlog over the past few days, especially after finishing our website revamp and launching our community Discord this week!
While updates have been quiet for a few months, that doesn't mean we haven't been busy. The development process simply takes time. We’re currently at the tail end of character design, which followed our stage design phase—neither of which offered a ton of visual mid-process updates to share.
As mentioned in our announcement earlier this week, we are officially committing to monthly devlogs moving forward. Even if there aren’t massive milestones to showcase, it’s only fair to keep you in the loop regarding where we’re heading with this project and other news.
The ROad so far
Originally, the plan was to start with the core framework and coding. However, as I got into it, I realized that building without assets felt counterproductive. I needed a concrete point of reference for elements like background scrolling speed, character movement, and enemy timing.
So, I pivoted and dove headfirst into asset creation:
Environments & Stages:Completed
Enemies (Minor & Major):Completed
Character Designs:Starting Soon
Once character designs are wrapped up, I can dive back into building the core framework and testing out the core gameplay mechanics.
What’s Next?
We still have a way to go—power-ups, projectiles, and, of course, the lore!
Our next major focus outside of development will be the soundtrack, which is why we’re already scouting for a talented composer.
As for a release date or demo? Right now, our tentative goal is Q1 or Q2 of 2027, but that could change. I would much rather push the game back and deliver a polished, quality experience than rush it out broken.
Thank you all so much for following and supporting us on this journey. See you next month!
